Natural Home made Mosquito Repellant DIY

My eldest daughter was born in monsoon in Kerala, India. And this is a month when the mosquitoes breed like anything and the Power-Cuts are longer than the home Inverters can go.

We used Bed-Nettings and Insect-Killing Bat in the beggning. We even fitted net window screens for every window in the house.but there was no help.

Window-net Screens are a bad idea due to The frequent visitors which lead to open doors that lets in the mosquito. And when the kids are toddlers they are again at the doors , attempting to step out as much as they could

The bed-netting are for sure a good idea once you have a sound sleep at night alone. but with an infant , you need to get out of the bed numerous time, and I'm not stating why.

In My case , I wasn't happy with both the ideas.

store bought mosquito repellants and sprays are filled with insecticides that I did not want to  use on my kids.

thats when I came across a Watssap post In Malayalam (my mother tongue)

I have tried it because it had only 3 natural ingredients. And it was proven 100% worthy.

Things required

1. An old liquidator machine with re-fill- bottle and diffuser sick (the bottle and stick should be opened and cleaned with soap and water)
2. Ingredients

• Camphor powder (if they are cubes, can easily be powdered by keeping it in a plastic bag and hit with a spoon
• Neem oil

Method

• Add powdered Camphor up to 2/3rd of the refill bottle
• Pour Neem Oil Until the camphor is completely submerged in it.
• put back the diffuser stick on as in the original form
• place it inside the liquidator
• and on the liquidator throughout the night.
• Alert : since this is a preparation with natural ingredients, its effect last only upto 7-10 days. Change both camphor and neem-oil again and repeat.
